My first experience with BM CS.
I managed to really mess up my Barrage 581, stripped the pivot screw, detent didn't work anymore, couldn't get a bolster back on. Stupid really, but I learned from it.

Anyway, contacted BM, sent them the 581 with a note describing how I had jiggered it, and a request for 2 split tail pocket clips to put on my 940 and 943. Fully expected to pay for repair and clips, and postage back to New Zealand.

3 weeks after mailing it, it was back in my hand, fully repaired, along with 2 new pocket clips and screws, free of charge. How cool is that?

I guess this isn't news to most of you, but I'm impressed and just wanted to say so.
Thank you Benchmade :)

I agree. I haven't used their CS much, but every single time I have it's been the same experience as Noddy13's. And that's over a period of 9 or 10 years of using BM products.

Trying to remove the safety? The detent probably
didn't work because the spring was not installed back under tension. I did this to a 585 and it was a real pain. Swore I would never put it back or try another. I was successful with no real issue other than being a pain to keep the spring under tension while reinstalling the stop pin.

Since you're over in NZ, the way Benchmade took care of you is yet another example of the great customer service we've come to expect. Glad they took care of your 581.
