I picked myself up a BM Dejavoo about a month ago now. lighweight, thin blade, scary sharp, retains an edge. It's done remarkably well as an EDC, worked some fish over with it, whittled a fuzz stick and a spoon, took it up on the slope and used it to cut rope, cardboard, etc. with no problems at all.

I have no problem with them using a stainless liner and a plastic spacer on it. Just makes it more affordable for average schmucks like myself.

The pocket clip though...the dirty, rotten *%*&^! of a @#$$ excuse of a pocket clip is killing me. just straightened it for the third time this week.

Think I'm gonna try trimming the end down and making it less snaggable. Also considering seeing if I can find a William Henry type pouch I could carry it in.

I'm not ready to give up on it by any means but damn I'm frustrated!!

I would consider removeing the clip and trying a pouch. A BM or Spyde one should work.

You might try contacting a custom knife maker and see if they couldn't make a better clip for it, if it uses the same clip as the Rukus then I understand your pain.

I really like the clip on mine. I like a deep carry clip. Can you expand on why it's causing you problems?

I agree, I like the shape, and the deep pocket carry. The clip seems to just snag on things, and get tweaked out. Can't name any particular movement, I just look down and realize my pocket clip is sticking out at 45 degrees again.

I just got the number for a custom leather maker who can make a William Henry-ish carry pouch. Might see what he charges.

ive snagged my clip getting out of the passenger seat of a car like 3 times but thats the only time ive snagged it... only had to straighten it once.... i tell you that it is annoying

Have you tried STR? He does pocket clips. He made a very strong low-rider clip for my spyderco military.

Andy

Yeah as cool hand luke said take a look at STRs work, I believe their is an activ ethread on the dejavoo on it know. And considering his speed, good craftsmanship, and great prices it is a real steal.

So it is just the clip that causes your consternation, but really the knife functions as expected?

Yup. That is correct. The knife itself is all around awesome. At this moment I'm particularly frustrated due to the fact that my clip is stuck out totally sideways (again!) I can't find the proper torx bit to fix it. I'll get some in town this evening, I suppose.

While you're at it, why not contact the Benchmade service department? In the past they've sent out replacement clips at no cost.

They also sell the "Blue Box" that has a set of torx drivers. That one isn't free, though.

The Blue Box is a piece of crap. The T6 bits in mine fit really loose and have stripped more screws than the law allows. I threw it away shortly after I stripped about 3 screw heads. It's imported junk.

I do agree with Runs With Scissors that the clip on the Mini-Dejavoo is junk also.

There is a torx driver made by Husky that sells for about $6 bucks. It has most or all of the torx heads needed to use on knives. You can find them at Home Depot.

Sorry about your previous screw problems, did the screws have loc-tite to ruin if for you?

sears has a set of micro drivers that includes the torx. It's a good set, plus hey have the craftsman warranty.

Sorry to hear that. I must be doing something wrong--haven't stripped any screws yet.

bungwrench,
maybe some how you got a bad set ...... i dont know many ive used my ble box to take apart several knives and also used it for other things too and have had no problems with it. Granted its not the most high quality tool out there but id say it is adequate

Run with scissors,
If you do call the benchmade repair shop and they have new stronger clips let us other clip sufferers know about it
