Hey 2d, I like the "crinkle" finish on the SHII. Shweet

Yeah Bronco.. that crinkle finish sure looks good and when you rub your hand on the blade the feeling is like rubbing your hand on a smooth pantyhose.

I wonder how Jerry came up with this type of blade finish... really feels good when you caress the blade.

One observation that may sound intriguing to some of you...if you look at the bottom picture,(due to the lighting or my monitor

the BM micarta has an OD color similar to the sheaths. The thoughts of OD slabs,...Hmmmmm...very barfy looking...I have to say I like the sound of it

I really like the crinkle finish as well!!!!
I took my BM out back to the wood pile and chopped some very hard Honey Locust. The coating right near the edge wore a bit and smoothed out just a tad, but wore much better than I expected.
And the E-BM is a most unusual knife as holding it tightly makes less of an impact on your hand than holding it loosely. The BM was still shaving sharp when I got done.
I did this with the NIB edge without prior stropping.

Time will tell just how much the finish may smooth out. I tend to beat the crap out of my knives.
I have a Basic 9 that the finish although highly scarred is still very servicible.
I am in hopes that the crinkle finish is even better.
