Well, finally decided to see how well the BA-E would stack up against the BM-E. The test could have gone better though. I forgot to pack some decent gloves with me so I was chopping while wearing fleece gloves :o Of course the outcome would be the same with better gloves though I think it would have taken far less chops as I kept having to adjust my grip. Here's some pics of round 1, CHOPPING :D

The competitors... BA-E vs. BM-E... cue "Eye of the Tiger" :D

2 more chops and the finish line. Of course the BM-E took it but, all things considered, I don't think the BA-E did to shabby considering the log was about the same diameter as the BA-E blade length.

I dunno :( I hoped, prayed, missed out twice in the Exchange when I didn't have funds, then I posted in WTB, and finally got lucky by scoring a SFNO. Of course the HOGs were more than happy to trade with me at that point...LOL

Great testing, the BA-E performed better than I thought

I think the BA-E could have done a lot better too. I chopped with the BM-E while holding the handle normally. However, with the BA-E, I was choked back on the handle. I was pretty much only gripping with 2 fingers on the handle and relying on the lanyard for the rest of my grip. With fleece gloves, I was constantly having to adjust my grip chopping like this :(

Nice test Aaron... and great pics!!!

I didn't think the BA-e would have done so well either... even with your fleece gloves slipping... I think it did a pretty good job considering it's size!

Very cool... thanks for sharing!

Nice job Aaron.
Thanks for the comparison pics and comment.
Now when you have more time stop up and I'll put you to work on the back 40. :p

Wow! The BAe did great! :D

Tinvalley. lol! :D:D:D me too...... :o

well, now you can compare the FBM to the BM-E

good test.

Good test --- Lot's of fun to read.

I'm pleasantly surprised at how well the BA did

Aaron, great pics!
As a city dweller, you are driving me crazy by posting pics on how easy it is for you to get in the woods and use your blades like they were born to do. I still haven't had a chance to take the SH-E into the open air. When I take them into the back yard for some work, I'm always afraid some SWAT team may show up because one of the neighbors are freaked.
Still haven't got my baby back from the repair shop (or replacement)

Hey Dan, how the hell you been? Hadn't seen any posts from you in a bit. Hope all is well and that you had a good Christmas.

Man, I could never be a city dweller. Not having woods within walking distance would drive me nuts. I'm already going crazy because they cleared out a couple acres where I normally hike. Looks like a new development going in :( Actually, thats one of the reasons why I did the chopping. All kinds of trees down there and was pissed so what better way to take it than pounding away on some logs...LOL I'm sure you'll have your baby back soon enough. I imagine things are rather crazy at the shop with the FBMs going out. Anyway, hope all is well and hope you get to get out in the woods sometime soon
