I've had a mint BM 975 for five years now, and I finally did something with it this evening. I always hated the "emory board" texture of the blade's bead blast. So, I carefully took the knife apart, took the thumb disc off, and began polishing the blade. This was labor intensive, due to my lack of power tools. I used various grits of sand paper, and finished with Veritas compound on some cardboard backing. The resulting appearance is almost "antiqued". It is slighly shiny, but has a very titanium like look about it. This is a vast improvement over the factory finish.

Upon reasembling the knife, I remembered that I had an extra Commander clip, due to my purchase of a skull clip. Would you believe that the hole pattern on the BM is the same as an Emerson? Well, it is. So on went the hour glass Emerson clip, and off went the factory anemic clip. I also sanded down the rough G-10 slabs and rounded all of the corners. It now feels worthy of carry. Thanks for looking!!
