All are slightly different with their own personalities. All models have bolts for pivots; 3 have removeable latch bolts, 3 have latch pins one of which is hidden under ivory, two latchless models.

The 'legs' model is relatively hard to manipulate.

That's an interesting collection you have there...never seen one with a babe on the handles.

I really like the last 3 balisongs, nice blade shape and good looking handles. My favorite Erickson was for sale a week or so ago, it has red colored inserts and an awesome blade to it!!

i'm especially fond of the one on the left. looks hard to manipulate, but cool-looking nonetheless

VERY NICE CHEF!!! Love the curved handles on that bada$$ tanto! Looks like ol' Bobby did ya right!

An excellent collection you have there. Mr Erickson's work is first-rate.

Now, when are you going to come out with a "Cooking with Balisongs" video?

Until then, Think W!

It takes the place of a kick on the blade tang and tensions the handles when closed...

My Taylor seems to have a small kick but also has the 2 tang pins. On the Tanto's with curved handles the second pin needs to be there or the latch won't stay latched.

The second pin elliminates the need for a "kick" and allows the blade to have a deeper belly. That's how Mr. Erickson gets away with such deep profiles without the handles becoming to large.

Thanks for the info. Ive been fooling with the idea of making my own bali after seeing the posts on this forum. I have thought I may make the handles out of g10 or micarta scales with titanium liners. After seeing the Ericksons I know how I'll make them work.

The double tang pin motiv was always popular with hollow sandwish models such as parker gypsies.. I always wondered who came up with the idea. Or who came first with the latch gate erikson or..? till I have my money on erikson being the pioneer on these two thigns. DUH I should just ask him myself
