BM Grip blade play??

i got a new BM Grip the otherday and theres slight left and right blade play and if i tighten the pivot screw too much its almost impossible to open. has this ever happend to anyone else, and if so, is there anything i can do to correct it?
 
Send it in if the blade play concerns you, without seeing the extent for ourselves not much we can say- everyone has a different threshold for "slight".

As far as I know, there should be zero play when the lock is engaged. It could be that a washer is missing. If you are good with tools and are confident that you can take your knife apart, start to take the pivot out and see if it does have the washer on either side. That would be my first suggestion. If you are not confortable taking the knife apart, send it in as forcedstrike suggested. Benchmade will take care of you.
 
Although I would suggest disassembling, washing and reassembling it, might cure the blade play depending on how significant it is.
 
You should be able to adjust the pivot screw so that you have neither play nor too much tension. Use a little loctite, plumbers teflon tape or nail polish on the threads (after cleaning them with lighter fluid, acetone or alcohol). All will be well. Make sure you use the correct size Torx driver. Home Depot has a great and very affordable Husky driver that has four double-end bits.
