hello i just bought my bm 551 griptillian and can not find any guides to taking the knife apart and cleaning it. does anyone have any guides they like or are good.

Taking it apart voids the warranty. I usually just give mine a soapy bath, and try to work out as much or the old oil and dirt as I can. Then blow it out with compressed air and add a drop or 2 of you favorite lube, and you're good to go.

Here's a thread that covers strip and reassembly:

That is a great thread. Saved it years ago for 'if I needed to', but really, the grip can be maintained with some soapy water and some fine machine oil. Mine is a user and my hiking knife backup to another folder (sheath) and a fixed blade...o and a axe....(I like to play with sharp things). So it is clipped to my pants and I use it more then the folder in the sheath or the fixed blade around camp duties. even if I carry it as a 'back up'.

After that just soapy water and few drops and your good to go. The Grip IMO is a design that does not really need a lot of maintenance.
