If you guys had the choice of the Griptilian or the Ambush, which one would you go with. I have some money at Cabelas that is burning a hole in my pocket.

My son got an Ambush and it seemed OK until the spring would no longer hold the blade closed. He exchanged it for a new one and so far that one is fine. It could have been a fluke.

I have a regular Grip and a Mini-Grip. The Axis lock is worth the extra money IMHO.

The Griptillian. I have both the Grip and the Mini Grip (both from Cabellas) and prefer the Mini-Grip for EDC. I just like its smaller size, plus I throw away the clip.

Here's another vote for the 551 Griptilian.

It's simply one of the very best production knives around--and very affordable too.

Good luck,
Allen.

I vote for the Griptillian, too. I own the Grip and have held the Ambush; while I like the size of the Ambush' blade, I greatly prefer the ergonomics and lock mechanism of the Grip. It is, IMO, a much higher-quality knife.

Another vote for the Grip. I own a Mini-Ambush and felt it was about the right size for the general EDC stuff that I do. I looked an an Ambush and got the initial impression that it was a bit on the big side. I think it depends on what you are planning to use it for :D
