Great knife; long discontinued, I believe. Grab several if you can find them. They came in large and small sizes too.

The smaller size was called the Leopard Cub. I collected these in different colors. They sure were sharp also. I still have a nasty scar on a finger from one of them. It's too bad they were discontinued :(

Since I'm not going to buy it, I just thought I'd give everyone the heads up. I "think" there's one over at the Knife Professional in the Closeout section. Not 100% sure as it is a "Benchmade Leopard Cup" model #612-BLK, but no picture...

Go Get It!!!

Have fun,
tom

There are usually BM Leopards on eBay if you are looking; of course they show up here as well. Yes, Pat Crawford designed them. Of course he made them in all sorts of varieties other than the standard or classic holes-in-the-handles design.

i had a 625S and wasnt impressed with the liner thickness/lock up at all, it was ok in the day but imho lots better stuff now, i wouldnt wanna edc one now really.

Soooooo, that's what my evil, linerlock failing, finger slicing, 3 stitch giving, nerve damaging CRKT Red Dog is a ripoff of.

Oh, really. :footinmou That explains the resemblance. But not the lack of quality. I swear that thing had 5mm of vertical blade play. And the liner/blade interface was very nicely polished, so it didn't take much to slip and fail.

I might try and find a Benchmade Leopard though, that's a snazzy looking knife. I still say the CRKT is somewhat ripping off Benchmade's trademark Bali-Song skeletonizing pattern though.

What's the handle material on the Leopard? On the CRKT, it was some weird, easily tarnishing, zincish colored, heavy-ass metal.
