BM mini grip blade into a mini barrage possible?

I have both. Both are straight edge but I much prefer the blade shape of the mini griptilian. However, I prefer the scales, action, weight and solid feel of the mini barrage. Is it possible to swap the blades and have the mini grip blade in my mini barrage and vice versa?

Why don't you remove the blades, that's the only way you can see, if the pivot holes are identical. The cutout where the axis pin slides onto, should also be identical both in terms of size and distance from pivot hole.

Although that is correct, I am hoping they are similar enough (pivot location/size, etc) that it may work

According to info I've found, they are both .100 thickness. If pivot and axis cutouts are the same, your right. I was hoping someone would have taken them apart and know what the differences regarding the assist spring hole or cutout is. A simple hole, I can handle. A cutout wouldn't be so easy. I'll prolly have to do exactly as you say.

Ive taken my mini barrage apart but do not own a griptilian. I put a video on YT of my mini barrage disassembling though, maybe save you some trouble. Ill add the link later, typing from my phone now

Do us a favour and post some pics on here when you are done. You are definitely not the only one that have thought of swapping blades between 2 models. Hope it works out for you.

Ive thought about the same thing with my Triage, thought i do not own a BM with a blade that is just as thick.

As a side note, you do not have to disassemble the whole knife to swap blades. Just take out the pivot and slide out the blade and washers.

I've owned both, but never thought about swapping blades (mainly because I had the 555 blade instead of the 556), so my memory could easily be pretty fuzzy. I don't think the critical dimensions are the same (center of pivot hole to tang where Axis bar locks up). I hope I'm wrong, because I plan on owning a 556 and a 585 again in the future and would love to do this swap if it does work. Since you already own both, you might as well try it and let us know.
