Just a few pics of a new toy I picked up at the local knife shop today!! Pretty cool knife , nice fit and finish , very smooth ,fast ,light and a much more managable size for a design I really loved but was just way too big !!!

very nice, I have the mini deja and really want this mini onslaught since it's lefty friendly. thanks for the pics!

Thanks for the great pics. I own the 740, 741 and 745...the new 746 is on my list of must-have's.

Thats awesome, but is the blade still thin like the larger version?. Thats one reason I didnt buy the large version because I was afraid it wouldnt handle hard use.

At first I was a little put off by the tip looking a little thin but it only looks that way because of the swedge grind ! The blade stock looks the same as a griptilian , or every other benchmade I own ! I def won't be prying with it tho that's for sure ;)

That is certainly the knife that I am looking forward to buy. One question though: on the photo is it next to the regular Dejavoo or to its mini version? With the size of the original 741 you have to know for sure - the guess may not work!

The lock is lefty-friendly, but the clip isn't reversible, so bear that in mind. :)

Yup, I believe I remember reading that Mrs. Lum worked with BM to make the Onslaught happen. I just wish they had been able to keep the original Forrester name, but I believe there was some issues with that name already being used.

The mini looks to be just as awesome, thanks for the pics.

I have both, and love the design. I bought the mini cause i thought i'd like it more to carry for edc, but i was dissapointed.

The knife just doesn't "feel" right in the mini version to me. I played with the mini for about a week, and then i took out the larger version, and i was like, "yeah...that's more like it"

This is just my opinion, and i like the design no matter what size.

Which is a real shame. If they drilled the grips for a lefty clip and provided, or sold a clip for the other side I'd get one.

Otherwise it's a great looking knife.

Both the Onslaught and Mini Onslaught are two of the better done models by Benchmade in recent years. I have both and both are sharp. The Mini version is more pocketable. They are definitely more slicers than choppers.

I carry a very much loved 741 and find myself staring as the blade when the sun hits it at the right angles

no problems with pocket carry at all but that could be because I am 6'5
