I am planning my next purchase and i am trying to decide between the Benchmade mini rukus and the Spyderco para military. Which one do you think is a better knife? Do you have any other suggestions for an under 4inch knife with an s30v blade that is under $150?

Both are excellent choices. I have the P-Mil. and it aint leave'n me pocket. Post what you get.

I've got both but carry the mini rukus abundantly more than the PM. You might consider a mini Manix while you can still find them. I haven't handled one but I carry a full size one quite a bit and, to me, that sweet flat grind and decent locking mech on the manix (same grind that's on the PM too IIRC) blows the others out of the water. IMHO

I love both, they are the best productions knives in this class. But I 'd choose the Mini-Rukus hands down. It offers more blade and the Axis lock just plain rules.

I'd have to say the BM Mini Rukus. That word "mini" is a bit of a misnomer as this is a full sized knife in it's own right, and a heavy duty one to boot!!:D

I have both and I greatly prefer the paramilitary. I used to buy a new folder every couple weeks- until I bought the paramilitary. I've been carrying it for over 6 months and haven't bought another folder since. The Spyderco Paramilitary is the finest production folder on the market today, IMO, and I own almost a hundred others.

I have to say get the Rukus. I know I dont like the PM because of the tip. it is really pointy and for me, that can break. anyways, cant go wrong with the BM!

Depends on what you use the knife for. The Mini-Rukus is a beefy, thick folder that can handle hard work. It is a little heavy, and carries ok, though it is thick. The Para Military, is light, ergonomic, but with a more delicate tip. The Para could definitely handle most tasks though, and it disappears in the pocket.

They're very different knives ergonomics-wise. That, and the lock type, may make or break the knife for you, so go to a store and handle both if you can.

My mini-rukus came yesterday and i am impressed. Its got super smooth opening, great ergos, and as usual the lockup is excelent. Also it is the sharpest out of the box knife i have ever had. If you dont own this knife i strongly suggest you get it.

I have both the full size and the "mini" Rukus.
They have not left my pocket since I bought them.
Full size in right front, "mini" in left front.

I have an old Military that is also a nice knife.
I just do not like flat handles that much these days.
