BM Mini Skirmish for a lady?

A lady friend of mine has a birthday approaching and I was thinking about getting her a Mini Skirmish. She is a freshly commissioned Army officer, so a good, sturdy EDC knife seems like both a very practical and very personal gift. She is about 5'8" so her hands are not too small. That said, I am 6'3" and 240 lbs and I think my full-sized Skirmish is a bit much for her size and her hands. The MS seems to blend good styling, high quality materials, a useful blade shape and very good ergonomics.

Any recommendations?

I guess my big questions are, a)do you think it is too much knife? and b) do you think it will fit her hand? I know that ideally she should be able to try some for herself, but that really isn't an option right now.

And, no, I won't tick her off. Her dad is a senior DEA agent. Yikes.

What I think,
No it is not too big for her hands.
No, it is not too much knife.
Others may have different opinions, or "guesses"
:)

It's more attitude than hand size that will affect her knife satisfaction. Chances are she will like the MS. I notice my wife admires mine more than any other I carry. You might try to find one of the limited edition blue, gold or black handled ones. I've carried the black handled one with blue dots (635-503?) for about two years and it's a great EDC.

If you want a slimmer, but still very useful knife...how about a 940,943, or 960 Osborne? A great blade...

I am looking around for a gold one, in particular, because our Alma Mater's colors are black, gray and gold. Also, the gold handle just looks great.

As a sort of follow up, if I like the full-sized skirmish, will I like the mini as well? I have heard some people complain that the handle is too small for large-ish hands, but I really like some smaller knives, like the Dodo and the Native.

I have medium-large to large hands. The mini-Skirm is NOT too small for my hands, at least. I think it's perfect for a lady. Evening gown, 5" pumps, earrings, just the tiniest dab of perfume, and a mini-Skirmish. What more could you ask for?

Hmmmm. I gotta go talk to my wife.

Well, you forgot the fine scotch and the leather restraints, for starters.

I think I am going ahead with it. Currently looking for a mini and a full-sized with the gold handles; I am so taken with the aesthetics of the gold-handled Skirmish that I'll need to get one myself.

I have the gold anodized Mnii -Skirmish with the black coated blade and the dots. They are very elegant, especially for a lady. I happened to catch an email sale from one of my favorite vendors and picked one up.

It's a lot of blade in a small package. My hands are small for a guy and it's a perfect size for me.

The Mini-Skirmish is easily my wife's most favoritest knife of all time. (And she's got alot of knives to choose from) It's not at all too much for her, and just about right for most every thing. matter of fact, she liked it so much she bought herself another one last December. (handground, numbered, collectors type thing as I recall) Now that I think about it, those two 635's are the only knives she went out and bought for herself. everything else was a gift from me or stolen from my collection. (gotta pay a tax to the Matriarch of the household for my knife addiction once in awhile)

It's lightweight, razorsharp, and has an excellent blade to handle ratio, and is very comfortable in the hand. Oh, and of course we can't forget that it's purty too....:D

I forgot to mention that said lady friend is an accomplished fencer, so I am sure that grip to hand fit will be important to her. At first, I was thinking something like a ProTech Godson, but I was informed that she fenced sabre, so pointy tips aren't everything to her ;)
