A few years back ( 2002 I think) I bought a new Benchmade dive knife called the model "100S-H20". I found it curious because it was the first knife ever that I knew of that had H-1 blade steel>> and it was the first knife I ever owned that had H-1 blade steel. It was an ideal blade steel for that type of knife because it's been proven that H-1 does not rust at all.

What I found confusing about that model is that they only made it for less than a year with H-1 and then switched over to "X-15 TN" blade steel. It confuses me as to why they did that especially with the success that Spyderco has had with that H-1 steel in their Salt Series. Why did they switch blade steels in that model of dive knife?

It was a beautiful dive knife with a nuclear yellow handle and it had a great sheath. I would think that the H-1 would have been better than X-15 TN? Anyone familiar with that model or any of BM's other dive knives?
