The one Brother put up some nice pics of the old Benchmade model 1000 "Auto-Spike". Now I'm also wondering if there is even a hope or prayer of Benchmade ever re-introducing their old Boguszewski Spike models 640 & 650?

I actually cut my premium knife loving teeth on those older Boguszewski models and I would dearly love it if they would do a new one or even a Sprint Run of the Boguszewski Spike models in newer/better blade steel. I bet I'm not alone>> and I bet that there were a lot of fans of those older Phil Boguszewski models.

I check this Benchmade sub-forum from time to time to see if they ever considered it. I do see that they talk about those older models on occasion. I know Benchmade sure sold a lot of those Boguszewski Spike models over the years and I bet a new one would sell very well too.

Like this. Shown with original Boguszewski for comparison.

Yeah the one on the right is truly the one I cut my premium knife loving teeth on back in the mid 90s. The model 640 which is the one you have there on the right is one that I EDCed for almost 10 years ( off & on) at one point. I would love to see that model as well as the bigger one (model 650) and the automatic version ( model 1000) all made again with newer/better blade steel.

I also had two of their automatic models ( model 2500 & model 1000). But there was just something really special about those Benchmade Boguszewski models IMO.

I hope you all can forgive me but I just had to pull up this old thread. Because I'm trying to find out all I can about these great old Benchmade Boguszewski Spike models. They had a model 650 which was the bigger Spike model and the 640 which was one of the very first premium quality knives I got started on. Also they had the model 1000 Auto-Spike which I still think was one of the very best automatic knives of all time IMO.

Anyone who can give any input about these super classic Benchmade models I would sure be grateful. I just know in my gut there were a lot of people back in the late 90s who loved that knife very much. The dealer I got those Boguszewski Spike model from told me he sold dozens of them over the years so I know it had a big fan base.
