i think the bm presidio ultra is better than the full size griptilian. the blade steel is 440c, not 154cm , but it has that solid handle feeling that the griptilian lacks. the regular presidio has aluminum handles, while the ultra is some kind of hard plastic. i dont really like aluminum handles.

I got one a couple weeks ago and would have to agree with you ...
The shape just seems to be a better fit IMO than the Grip, plus I like the blade design better.
I haven't used this one yet, but I did have an earlier mini grip with the 440 c .
I used it hard and carried it for a couple years and never had any problems with the steel....

This one is near the top of "go get" list. I've thought the fully lined mini-grip was a much better knife than the full sized grip for a long time. The presidio ultra seems like Benchmade's way of making a fully lined griptillian type knife without tampering with a really good proven product

I've always disliked Grips. I've had the smaller 527 for a few weeks now and really like it. I also have one of the 525LE's with the non-ribbed aluminum scales and I might just like the Ultra a little better despite the difference in steels, 440c VS. 154cm. Between the full liners and the lightweight GTX scales it carries easily and the blade's really sharp.

I'm picking up one of the larger 522's when I have the $$. They're nice knives at a good price! I'm not selling my 525 or 520 just yet though! ;)
