BM Rant - Bowie II vs DPT II

I'm looking to get a nice affordable fixed blade knife, and have narrowed it down to the BM Rant knives.

I'm looking at buying either the Bowie II Rant or the DPT II Rant, and have no idea which one to get.

Any ideas from the folks here?
 
I'm looking at the 2008 catalog, so maybe I'm behind the times, but I didn't know there was a "II" to those knives. Must be new for 2009.

They're both Red Class, 440C stainless, same specs for blade and handle so, if it was me (it ain't), I'd take the Drop Point (DPT). This is only because I like a drop point style better than clipped.
 
I agree with Stretch. I like the drop point better. These are both made in the USA now.

Good price on these.
 
Thanks guys. On gpknives.com the knives are listed as Bowie II and DPT II.

I do like the looks of the DPT better than the Bowie, so if there's no difference other than the blade design, I'll go with the DPT.
 
i also prefer drop points and would suggest a drop point over a bowie style if you plan on using it for outdoor utility purposes
