I know this has to have been asked before but without "search".... Dad always said there's no stupid question if you really don't know the answer, so here goes.

I was in our local rip off sporting goods store the other day and looked at some Benchmade knives. I picked one model I was particularly interested in and ask the price. The fellow said that's $119. I liked to have dropped my jaw right there. I had just seen that knife for sale at $29.95 listed as a Benchmade from a highly reputable dealer. I posed the question to the fellow at the rip off and he said it probably was a "red box" model and his was a "blue box" model. Both are made by Benchmade....so what's the diff.....someone please enlighten me. That's a significant difference in price.

The Red Class are made in Taiwan or elsewhere foreign. All Blue Class are made at BM's shop in Oregon.

Without saying too much (as I'm apt to do on this subject), BM's Red Class knives are without class, in my opinion, however well-made many of them might be.
