So I wanted to get a Lone Wolf Cheyenne (which is by far the sharpest knife I have gotten) and the website I purchased them from had some of the discontinued red line knives.

Specifically I got a BM Vex Tanto with a thumbstud and a Pardue Mini Ambush.

And I have to say I can see why they were discontinued. They are clunky, slow, and feel like a brick in the hand. There is no smoothness to them at all.

Was pretty disappointed, but at least they were cheap.

I had an Ambush for a while, and liked it a lot. It was FAST, and light, and quite big. Was offered a good trade for it but otherwise I would still have had it.
Can't speak for the Mini though.

I love my Vex. Not so fast but incredible strong and sturdy. The bladesteel can take a wicked edge as well. Vex is still best bang for the buck! It´s a truck!

I have to respectfully disagree. My experience with the Red Class, specifically the ambush series was excellent. I like that BM ran AUS8 harder than most manufacturers. I think of the Pardue ambush as a less expensive Griptilian, and am continually impressed with its smoothness of opening, lock strength, edge retention, and ease of sharpening. It is quite possible your purchases were sitting on a shelf a while. Clean em, oil them and enjoy them in good health.

I just received a Vex tanto in a trade and I really like it. I am a tanto fan for on the job duties anyway but it is a heavy duty folder. The blade design is excellent in my opinion! I don't super smooth or fast.
