I've always kind of overlooked the Rift, especially once the Contego came out.
However I was at a new, (nice) gun store Shooters World in Tampa Fl last Saturday.

They had a small collection of knives and were stocking news ones, when for the first time in my life I saw a Rift in green/black G-10. It looked much nicer in person than in pics I've seen. I wanted to ask to look at it, but didn't because those guys were really working hard.

Anyway, that knife was combo edge. I asked if they had a plain edge and he told me everything BM he had was out. But he was getting a shipment in next week.

That knife looked a lot thinner than I thought it was. Which really made me want one. Does anyone have comparison shots of it's thickness next to another BM? Any should work since I have a couple to reference it to.

Shooters World is going to cost me thousands, I can feel it already :)

The Rift is a great knife and feels much thinner than it looks. I always tell people that it is a large folder that carries small.

It was kind of under the radar for me...but I ended up finding an LE one and jumped on it. Now it's one of my favorites.

The Rift is a phenomenal knife and is a really slick design that is still practical. It has quickly become my favourite EDC folder.

That green/black is actually grey/black, but in harsh light it can have a slight greenish hue to it. You can actually dye the 2-tone scales to a different color: blue/black, maroon/black, kelly green/black...

I sold my Rift to fund my Contego, but I will be getting another Rift -- hopefully it will be on in M390 (are you listening, Benchmade?)...

I love the Rift, it's an awesome knife.
Especially the Forum knife - CF scales & M4 steel.

Who makes the thumb stud on the Ritter and the forum knife? Also what's the length?

RE
Benchmade makes them. My standard Rift had the same kind of thumb stud. My son's standard Rift has them. As for length? Who knows. I do know that you need a 3/16" socket/wrench to get them off...
