Hi. I just received one of the BM Ritter Grip MK1 knives. Great knife for the collection, but a little large for the pocket. Can anyone recommend a nylon or leather sheath I can attach or clip to the belt for EDC? Since I just bought it, it would be nice not to have to send it off anywhere...

Thanks in advance,
Joe K.

When the RSK Mk1 first came out Doug Ritter sold a Bianchi sheath to go with it. It got mixed reactions from owners, but I bought one at the time, and I liked it enough that when I bought the M2 limited edition Mk1 I found Doug no longer sold the sheath so I needed to find it from another source.

I found it at http://www.copquest.com/14-1000.htm for $14 plus shipping. That is the best price I could find at the time. Look for the "Accumold 7303 Single Mag / Knife Pouch" link. When you click on that link, you'll find two drop-down fields. The first dropdown is for the closure type - select the "Hidden Snap" closure (don't get the Velcro one - it won't work right - trust me, I tried both). The second dropdown is for the sheath size - select "Browning Hi-Power", which is the #2 sized sheath that fits the fullsize Mk1.

This is the exact same molded nylon sheath that Doug Ritter recommended for the fullsize RSK Mk1 (and sold through Aeromedix for a while). I think you'll like it.

Hi Ken,

Thanks for the information! I just ordered one, looks great and would be nice to have the sheath originally supplied for this knife.

Cheers,

I ordered the Bianchi sheath with my first Ritter.

I found it a poor fit for the knife and have never used it. The knife shakes about in the pouch and the press-studs rattle.

I don't have a problem carrying the full size RSK Mk 1 in my front right pocket. At first it seemed large but that was relative to smaller folders. After carrying it a few hours it felt fine.

Well, I did receive the Bianchi sheath from CopQuest for the RSK Mk1. It's very well made, but I lean towards what Steven sez: the knife moves around some and the studs do rattle. The biggest problem is how big the sheath is - if I wear it under my t-shirt (it looks like a big cell phone.) Good for camping and storage, but too clumsy. It didn't cost much, so no great loss.

I prefer to carry folders without the clip, and most often in the 5th/coin pocket on my jeans, but want a belt pouch as an alternative. (BTW - has anyone noticed how easy it is to chip the paint off the new BM clips?) but would still prefer a more discreet carry option.

For this purpose, I'm thinking about getting the standard BM large and small
belt sheaths for the RSK and my 940's. I've read elsewhere that you guys like these, and Steven has shown the difference in size between the two sheaths using the same RSK knife. Nice photos too...

Thanks for the comments.

I found that I prefer to carry it inside my waistband. Just to the side of the first (front) belt loop. I find it carries much easier that a belt sheath.
