BM Ritter MkI or BM 913 D2?

Okay, I've recovered from my dose of William Henry clap and am now thinking of either the Ritter MkI or the 913 assist D2 spearpoint.

Which one? First to say "both" gets a "surgical steel" Chinese balisong with a loose rivet.

Which and why if you please?

I have a 910 and like the grip and thinness of the handle. I would bet that the Ritter is thicker.

I don't know about the 913, but the RitterGrip is a great knife. I love the shape of the blade and it is certainly built as a good, hard working utility knife. Just what I appreciate.

As to the difference in steels...I don't necessarily view one as that much more useable than the other. Both are good--both are made in USA.

:)

I like the spear point Stryker much more aesthetically. I also like the steel and handle material better. Personally, I also hate the handle shape on the grip to top it off, so it's an easy choice for me.

Depends on your personally opinion really, both knives are excellent, the grip has a bit more meat on it, but the Striker is a leaner pointier knife. Personally I would take the Grip.

I've got a Stryker Tanto (910) I think, and the RSK. I adore the RSK bladeshape, I just wish it was ground out of thicker stock like 3/16" <ddddddrrrrrrrooooooollllllll>. After some hard use, my 910 has developed some disturbing blade play, the liner dances across the tang of the blade, though it hasn't yet unlocked itself, it still makes me a little uncomfortable. Anyway, if you've already got the 910, get yourself a Ritter. If you don't like it, sell it here, and get the 913... :)

I would've said "both" but the junky beat me to it.

Griptilian. Great handle. Yes, it is thicker, but it grips beautifully. Should be lighter than the 913 too. Better steel, uncoated, axis lock. Wonderful high flat grind. Just a great knife that Ritter Griptilian is.

That's the problem. Or part of it. They weigh the same.

I have a Stryker. BUT not a D2. In fact ....NUTTIN... in D2.

How can a knife knut do without D2? Can I expect to spend the rest of my life satisfactorily cutting things with crappy old VG10? :D

And I have NO "assisted opening" knife.

Can you BELIEVE this stuff?

I love the Stryker handle. I don't care a bunch for the liner lock. I have not heard any good or bad about the assist mechanism in the new Stryker.

The Ritter has what appears (and I have read) a GREAT "slicing" blade.

But I had to sand down my MINI grip because it was actually wearing OUT my pants.

I guess I can sand down a Ritter, too.

But the Stryker looks so .... BITCHIN !!!

This is worse than herpes. I think. I don't even have herpes.

Can a good knife knut not have D2, assisted open, OR herpes?

This is gonna be a restless night.

Arrrrrrrhhhhh.

:eek::rolleyes:

You shouldn't have to sand the full sized Grip. The texturing is different than the mini-Grip. The Ritter blade shape is my favorite for everything I use a knife to do. If ya gotta have D2, get a Cabelas Grip.

Since I don't like autos or A/Os and I don't like tanto blades and I don't like liner locks, I would recommend...

The Ritter just came. When I called, they told me they had a couple left. He said next week will be a different story.

It ain't the purdiest knife, but it's about as usable as any I have seen. And I don't find the blade too thin.

Fits perfect.

:)

You'll like it. I love my full size, but it wasn't the right size for me for EDC so I just had to go and get a mini too.
