BM Stryker....over 710 and AFCK

I handled these yesterday (all nice) and I think I prefer the Stryker because it's a teeny bit smaller, (the 710 and AFCK just seem too massive for tactical fruit peeling in NYC). Any thoughts on the Stryker? Black or satin?

I'm about to buy, but I've been seeing prices range from $80.00 to $125.00...is this normal?

Thanks....

You will be happy with a Stryker. Great feel in the hand, and very strong blade profile. The M2 steel is fantastic for holding an edge, but the 154CM blades are also a great steel with more corrosion resistance than tool steel.
Makes a serviceable defensive tool as well. The tanto style gives lots of cutting power.
I've owned a few, and am partial now to the BT2 coated M2.
Watch the trade and sales forums, you might find a deal!

The suggested retail price of the 910HS (the Stryker with M2 steel) is $140 and the retail price of the regular model is $120, but online sellers (and brick-and-mortar folks) can sell for less, so wild price fluctuations are normal.

Don't know what floats your boat, but I'd only go with the black coating if the steel is M2.

My buddy has a stryker and loves it more than life itself. The handle is nice and slim so it doesnt feel bulky when its clipped on your pocket. Overal I think you would love the knife.

Thanks, man. I wish I had the Stryker right now, though, because your avatar and quote are scaring the jiminies outta me.

Lol, my quote is from a "Monty Python - Always look on the bight side of life"

Its the funniest song ever, and the moral of it is to not sweat the small things in life:) If you want the mp3 just email me and I'll send it to you, you will get a kick out of it.

If you don't like the 710 and the AFCK, you might look at the 705, 814 ? Might be a better fit.

i have had/carried a stryker for a while now, not very much lately but my wife carries her mini stryker edc, and they are good ones imho, and not too high $.

i have an older chisel grind one, and its ground right handed and one of the sharpest chisel grinds i had seen till i got my emerson collector zero bevel grind P-Tac. i like it a lot(the BM and the P-Tac lol)

the only con on the BT is the stuff scratches up so bad, but it does protect the steel, so......

710 in HS all the way. A great package.

I will second that, the 710HS is, IMHO, one of the best folders out there for the money.

I just got a 910 in ATS-34 (with the black coating) and I'm highly impressed with it. Its liner lock is the best I've ever handled personally. It locks up very securely and gets tighter as more pressure is applied to the edge, but doesn't slip at all if you press on the spine. The fact that the liners are made of titanium is a nice bonus. I haven't used it enough to evaluate the blade design yet, though.

I've got a 910s ATS-34 in the safe that I purchased for retail when they first came out.Several friends at work wanted one when they saw mine. They all are very happy with them for EDC.After several years of use near abuse these knives are still going strong with no problems at all.tom.

If you are going to go 910 Stryker go big and get M2 tool steel. You will not regrest it.

Now I own both the 710 HS and the 910 SBT and while the 910 is discoed so it stays in the safe I think the 710 is much nicer to handle then the 910 is plus the 710 gives you AXIS.

But both are great knives and you can not go wrong. A knife is for you and no one else so make sure you like the feel of it in your hand.
