I went to the gun & knife show last saturday in Portland. I was looking forward to check out some microtechs or CRKs but i really couldn't find any.
there were a couple of used utx and that was it...
I was kinda disappointed.
There was a nice stand with spyderco, benchmade, Sog, al mar, and others, and i handled for the fist time a BM210 g10 and C.fiber. I read about the knife before and it seemed interesting to me, bu t i usually go for bigger blades on both fixed and folders.
Well, what a surprise! this knife has an incredible balance and the bolsters have a superb fit and finish. It really look incredibly nice and solid.
the price was really good and the woman pretty much included a neck sheath.
Now, almost everybody complained about the leather sheath but i'm really not disappointed by it. The leather was simply very dry and needed a little care. the stitching is good and the only one flaw is the offcentered benchmade logo on the back under the belt loop.
This sheath holds the knife well still allowing for a quick draw and i think it wil be allright. Afterall this is no tactical stuff but a gentlemen knife. i really love it and i'm planning on carrying this everyday to work and everytime i feel like dressing up a little bit and carry an elegant knife.... to make it simple, if i'm wearing my nice watch i'll be carrying this knife for sure.
the neck sheath instead was kinda disappointing. there's a retention screw to play with but no matter how much time i spent trying to adjust it, it seems impossible for me to find a good set up. it either looks to loose, or too tight. to set it up so that the knife will be hold in place without play, it gets too tight for drawing it without scuffing the handle.
I also did not like the safety link on the lanyard. this sheath comes with a nylon cord that is basically closed by a piece of clear plastic tube that fits tight over the extremities of the cord holding the thing together. Benchmade says that it's a safety thing.... i really think is useless and i'm just scared that someday i'd loose the knife or dropp it on the floor.
I guess i can change that easily.
last note. it is not the fist bm I buy and i always find them not sharp enought.
but that's no big deal either.
I have other knives in S30V and i like the steel.
i love this little knife.... it is really a pleasure to hold and to carry...
