I just picked one of these up the other day and it is awesome. I got Pre-Pro #0945/1000 with the black blade and 1/2 serrations. I love how the handle feels and the axis lock is neat as well(This is my first one). So does anyone else here have any of the numbered ones and if so what number do you have?

I picked one up yesterday for $79.00, I didn't know what I was getting until I got home and checked it out on the Benchmade web site--It looks as if I got a great deal. I love it. I have number 813. It also is all black with 1/2 serrations. I like the secure bi-directional grip pattern on the handle scales. The great grip has a down side though, I believe that carry over extended time will likely be hard on pockets as it grabs when you place it in the pocket or remove it from the pocket. It does address the usual concern related to aluminum scales--the fact that most of them become slippery if used in a wet environment.

I would have to give this knive an A+, it is my favorite axis lock Benchmade yet.

I've got #304 of the pre-pro 520. It's a great utility knife. The thing that led me to buy it, turned out to be the very reason I don't carry it-- the tread on the scales. I found that it grabbed my pocket liners when I pulled it out, so much so that it turned my pockets out whenever I pulled the knife out. I think that with a nice sheath, it could be ideal for carry. It locks up rock solid with zero blade play (that I can detect anyway). Now, if it had another inch of blade with a little recurve...

I agree that a nice sheeth for this knife would be the way to go. If a person was going to be doing things where the likelihood of a knife clipped to the pocket my get lost, I suppose that those aggressive scales would aid in pocket retention.

I noticed the scales scraped the pocket as well. I went ahead and bent the clip back a little bit so that it has a little extra room and so far it hasnt really torn up my Khakis.
