It's past midnight now, and I've just arrived home from work, but I wanted to share this with you guys !

That's awesome--I just bought one and that's exactly what I was thinking about doing.

No. It's all original. Only the plastic scales were removed and new wood ones were made.

Now that's what I've been thinking of doing. I almost picked one of these up while on vacation, but could not get around the plastic scales. I called Benchmade to ask if the stock scales were glued, but could not get an answer. Any chance if you guys know if I can simply unscrew the existing scales for something nicer, or are they glued?

Thanks,
Randy

Man, don't let a little glue stop you if you want to change the handle. Especially if you're just going to scrap the old scales.

Does any one know who makes custom scales in the USA that I could send a 670 to have work done?...Or, would the Italian site mentioned in the beginning of this thread have extra scales made?

I was going to order an Apparition, but decided against it, because I HATE the scales.
NOW, I would consider getting an Apparition, knowing that I CAN get different handle scales!!!

THAT looks awesome & amazing, 1000% better!!! CONGRATS!!!

Hi guys !!!

I'm back ! (was in my honeymoon...)

I'm notsure if it's possible, but the next one I'll try to put some ebony scales is my 805...

I'll call Schmatz tomorrow, and I'll let you know what he thinks.

Hey this is my first post, but Ive been reading for a long long time. Used the forum to buy my latest knife, the Stretch.

I made my own scales for my 670...I accidentally nicked the bolster a bit with the sander...but mine is Bloodwood scales that I finished with Tung Oil.

The Leek was my old EDC, and my BM was too at one point, but lately Ive been carrying a Spyderco Stretch. But I really still enjoy my 670.

*Edit. I just realized I revived an old old thread. My bad guys.
