Of course, doing so will void the Benchmade warranty. I read that you might need to file the backspacer down as the 707 blade goes deeper into the handle.

Strange 
I think 707 handle is mucho better than that of 705. Tell you the truth, my major gripe with 705 was the handle which was unproportionally thick. Love thinner, Al handles on 707.
