This morning my BM sequel fell out of my pocket and hit the ground from like 3.5 feet. It was the first time it hit the ground and now the knife doesnt open and close like it used to.

physically i cant see really any damage other than slight scratch/scrape on the black handle.

The knife will still open but it seems like something got bent and now it wont open as easily like it used to.

Is this something i should expect from a single drop...i am quite dissapointed that a 100+ dollar knife couldnt take a single small drop.

Is this something that the benchmade warranty would honor or am i SOL?

That is quite strange. Send it to Benchmade's lifesharp service with $5 for return shipping. They'll take care of it. Might include a small note just to make sure they realize the issue and make sure to address it.

Nothing appears non-aligned?

I'd try loosening the screws a bit and seeing if full function returned. Maybe bend it back and forth a bit, to allow things, change position. If full-function returned, tighten it up. But, I'm always trying to fix things myself.

It isn't expected behavior and the email BM warranty-send it in is a viable course of action.

when i get home to my tools i'll open it up. nothing is misaligned, blade when closed looks perfectly aligned and centered. Hopefully its something simple.

Just make sure Benchmade doesn't know you've opened it up, then your warranty is really voided.

It is definitely not normal behavior of a BM to do that after a 3.5-foot drop. I have accidentally dropped my 710 and thrice dropped my 556, each time unfortunately on hard blacktop or wood floor, and in no way was the action affected. If you are unable to find a cause, BM should be able to take care of it.
