got a BM 710 recently, and really like it - blade shape reminds me of of a thick 'weehawk' blade on a BM bali - have a REKAT or 2 and am used to manuipulating the button to open/close blade, so opening/closing is lightening fast, the axis lock is the bomb, i believe it now....super lock up, great blade shape, superior ergo's, hard to beat for the $$ imho - lite weight, looks/feels better in the hand than in pics too - wasnt sure i would like it from pics, but just really feels good in the hand - i might have to get a axis AFCK now

i see what all the fuss is about now......

i think its gonna replace my MT LCC for EDC, which, imho, is doing something....

a great knife, my suggestion is get one ASAP

I too really like the 710 thats why I just orderd my second one this week. I really like the handle, it fits my hand just right. The blade shape isn't bad either. The axis lock is one of my favorite locks out there. It is made out of pretty good materials and every BM that I have ever had has been very tough and a qaulity product. I think that everyone should at least give the 710 a look.

I absolutely love my new BM 710. It really is an excellent piece of engineering. Even though my large Sebenza is out for a little maintenance and cleaning, I haven’t really missed it. The 710 has been a pleasure to use.

The real question is which knife I’ll be carrying when the Sebenza does come back. It’s gonna’ be a hard choice. I’m positively addicted to the blade shape of the 710!!!! And oh…… That Axis lock!!!!

M2 or ATS-154?

I have an ATS-34 from the first year they were released, but have carried it very little in all that time. But I just recently started carrying it again, and it cuts like a son-of-a-gun. I'm even considering ponying up the bucks for the M2 version, somewhere down the road.

Rockspyder,

Get the M2 - it cuts awesomely, sharpens easily, and holds an edge for a very long time. Search for some threads on M2. My 710 HS is my favorite cutter.

I totally agree. The 710 series is a real winner. From all the positive comments, it appears to be one of the most well-respected full sized folders over the last few years. I have the ATS-34 and the M2 versions and they are both winners. Also, IMHO, one of the most "elegant" looking folders out there at any price range.

BM hit a home run with this one.:)

I have one with a 154CM blade and it sharpens and holds an edge very well.

I have one. It's allright. I have always wondered what are the utility tasks that many people say it is good for. I don't find it very utility orientated. (I don't find any recurve bladed knife utility orientated.) Great for tactical use but recureve blade limits utility use. If one opens boxes etc. recurve is allright but I want to be able to whittle wood and plastic etc. with my utility knife (I work in a lab and do small modification to my measurement equipments). I've lovered the edge agle... but 710 isn't still a good 'whittler'. 940 is far better user for me and it is clearly behind Spydie Calypso, Kershaw Random Task and Sebenza (to name some good utility FOLDERS).
