Hey guys,

Just saw the BM741 on their website. I have the 740, and love it and Lums work. My only thought about the 740 is that is could use a stronger lock. Now I see the BM741 with an axis lock, problem solved. I love the design, blade size, lock mechanism, etc. My only thought about the 741 is why 154cm? On a knife like this, I would think that S30V would be the automatic choice. I'm still going to have to get one once they become available through my favorite online retailer though. I'd love to hear other thoughts on the 741. Whatcha got?

the 741 is a huge knife, i handled one at a dealer last week. if you need a huge knife this one seems like a pretty good choice. i can't say from use though because i have no need for a huge folder.

as for the blade steel what's wrong with 154cm? sure everyone loves s30v but there is nothing wrong with 154cm what so ever. there is no reason to complain about another fine steel. if this knife came in AUS-8 i'd think twice about buying it but not 154cm.

I love my 741. It is very big. I like how it feels in the hand though. It is much more comfortable than another big folder - the Rukus 610. The fit and finish is perfect.

It is a thin blade. Definitely a good slicer. The blade shape might be hard for some people to take a liking to.... me included. I did not realize until I bought it that the "swedge" or "flare" (what would you call it?) along the top of the blade is actually rather like a double edge, but unsharpened. So stabbing something, this knife goes through it like butter.

The workmanship is excellent.
