I just scored a Benchmade 770 Pre Pro from another forumite and just thought I'd share some opinions. First off, I really like the blade geometry. The blade is about 3" long (154CM) and has a SLIGHT recurve to it. It handles most cutting chores with ease. The handles are slick carbon fibre and look super snazzy. If I have one complaint about the handle is that although the lines on it are great, it leaves you little to get a good solid grip. The axis lock is great of course, but the axis slidy thing is a bit harder to grasp than my 705.
I gave this knife a good test last night where I cut the foil off of about 30 or so wine bottles. It kept a decent edge and sharpened up real nice on my 204. Overall, I am going to hold onto this baby for a while. I do like the size (good for city carry) and it carries nice and deep in the pocket.
Thanks,
Matt

The 770 is definitely a very attractive knife...

The two functional things that impress me the most about it:

1) It can truly be carried clipped to a shirt pocket. It actually works better for this kind of carry than any other small knife with reasonable functionality. I think the length and slimness is the key to this; I have several small Spyderco knives that are great, but their wider shapes make them top heavy in the pocket, and prevent them from being carried this way.

2) It actually provides a pretty good grip, for the small size.

So when I need/want to carry a knife in the shirt pocket, this is always the one I use (the axis lock is part of that, of course).
