BM806D2 Clip Positioning?

I just received a Benchmade 806D2. Its clip positioning makes it tip up carry. The Benchmade website states that the 806D2 can be carried tip up or tip down. My knife only has screw holes for tip up carry. Is this because it is a pre-production model? I've been carrying an old style AFCK for a few years tip down, so this is a bit different. Thanks in advance.

The pre-production models of the 806 are partially serrated and numbered 1-1000. Unfortunately, the first few 806D2's are tip-up carry only. You could always try calling Benchmade to see if they could remedy this for you. They have great customer service.
