Ordered a BMe2 when it was released as I have always been a fan of this knife profile. In my ever-growing quest to kill my wallet, I have been looking and keep coming back to the ASH2. I've never held an ASH1, but the ASH2 looks great. As the overall specs look similar bw the BMe2 and ASH2, I was hoping for sme insight. I cannot seem to find any reviews on the ASH2, so I was hoping for someone to give some subjective and objective comparisons. I know, a I know- "just get both."

Thanks in advance.

IMO the ASH 2 has a better blade but the 2G Ergo Battle Mistress has a better handle. Both are the same price. I say grab whatever one you can find for a better price on the exchange

How do you figure that?

To me the ASH-2 feels reminiscent of an enlarged sarsquatch with a rear talon hole added. Very nice indeed.

I'd agree that the Ash2 has a better blade but the handle just isn't for me. It really depends on how it feels to you.

I didn't use my She2 but I handled it a lot. I just couldn't get that good feeling as I do with the fusion handles ot my SFNO.

I say try them both and let one go if you aren't feeling it. That's what I do.

I hear you. I took the mags off and put a set of custom shop standards on mine. Closest I will probably ever get to an shbm looks wise and fits my meaty paws better. I often wonder how it would feel with the rear talon modified, but not enough to bother. The rear talon does help with the two finger grip using middle finger as pivot for chopping. :)

There's a bit of ASH2 action in this vid...

I'm just talking out of my ash b/c I haven't handled either yet, but I think of the ASH as having an edge on utility, while the BM would have an edge in chopping. Plus user preference on straight vs dropped handles would be a subjective factor.

I've been really tempted by some of the ASH2's on the exchange, but I've gotta hold until the BME2 drops. I think I'll prefer the Ergo handle b/c I like the big res-c blades so much.

*BME blade is longer (9.5 vs 9). ASH2 barely wider (1.7 vs 1.75). ASH2 barely thinner (.25 vs .22).

Biggest difference there is probably the stock, the BME should be notably heftier. 0.03" isn't huge, but would probably add up to several ounces across ~15" of blade and handle, and the BME is nearly an inch longer in OAL.

This.

Those who have one, what does the ASH 2 weigh?

How would you compare the ASH 2's performance compared to other established blades? IE, chopping and cutting vs. say a basic 8, or SYKCO 911, etc?

1. The ASH-2 weighs about 20-21 oz.
2. It's more neutrally balanced
3. The BME-2G will likely weigh more and due to the ERGO handle will allow for it to be a better chopper.
4. Ergo and Fusion handles allow for hand positions/grips that make the blade similar to a Khukri when chopping

It will be interesting to see what the Ergos are like on the TRASH 2 when it comes out.

You can almost guarantee they will be awesome. The ResC handles on all the knives I own with them are amazing and play a big part in knife's capability.
