Hello all, I've just brought a new BM707 and a BM890, they are just going to be my everyday knives, my question is what angle on the lansky system am I best to use? I'm not looking for an extreme edge with a mirror polish. just a sharp toothy edge for my day to day needs. Thanks and Respect

Kris,.

I have a DMT Alugner which is similar.

What I recommend (and what I do) is use a sharpie to see where the stone is making contact. Then use the angle that gets as close as possible to the factory angle. You may have to "reprofile" the edge slightly.

IMO since Benchmades are sharpened freehand on a belt at the factory, it's hard to say exactly what angle it's going to be. If you look closely before you make a pass, you can tell if it's even close at all.
