Of course you wouldn't. You're only a monkey.

Benchmade produces automatic knives (Switchblades to the sheeple). They are restricted in one way or another in all states. Benchmade will only sell to active duty militay or law enforcement personnel to maintain a legal stance and to keep their butt's out of trouble.

Just the way the cookie crumbles..

I dont think they will sell there new one-piece push-dagger to us common folk either.
At least, it was not listed in their catologue.

I'm not sure if this applies to the BM models mentioned, but some manufacturers build products that are specifically marked for a certain group, agency, etc and use the logos for that organization on the product. These logos are trademarked and the sell of the product with that particular logo, badge, seal, etc. is restricted only to that group. This doesn't apply to every group but I know for a fact that it does apply to some agencies. With all that said, there are manufacturers who "illegally" mark a knife with a seal, badge, or even a name without getting legal permission to do so. Most of the time agencies are too busy to go after this illegal use and sell of such merchandise but sometimes they do confiscate if it comes across their radar screen. As a general rule, using trademarked names or graphics can only be used without permission in an editorial format. If it's used to promote a product in any way (such as advertising or making the appearances of an endorsement without consent) then it's not legal. The reason I brought all of this up is we're going through this process now with a new design we have coming out.

BC = British Columbia? If that's the case, you're sorely mistaken when it comes to knives like switchblades.

Automatic openers (switchblades) are seriously restricted for manufacture, distribution, and sale in the U.S. -

Benchmade moved from southern California to Oregon (where manufacture/distribution/sale to OREGON residents is legal regarding butterfly and switchblade knives) to retain its position in the butterfly (BaliSong) market and open up the market regarding switchblades (first model built for Al Mar / Al Mar Knives called the AFO - or "Armed Forces Only").

Benchmade secured US-GOV contract to produce auto-openers for the military with the appropriate legal caveats and agreements - and produces the same for Law Enforcement Only sale/carry - with similiar legal caveats.

Most simply put that's all there is to it -

You are incorrect. BM military line, including autos, are sold in stores and knife/gun shows to every day people. The restrictions vary from state to state. The federal restriction refers to intenational and interstate commerce, not within state sales that is governed by local statute. I was just at a knife store in MO where the benchmade line of autos and other autos were for sale to anyone over 21. I asked and was told the age limit was a store policy, not a law.

This clown MB has convinced me that he is a troll.

Buh bye.
