While visiting a BMW MC wrench I was allowed to inspect a knife in his display case. This one is just like. The tang stamp reads: INOX Solingen Germany, in three lines. It is lined, has a half stop and I can feel subtle relief touching the round badge (white propeller against a blue background).

i haven't found any info on this knife so I wondered if anyone had the story. Is it authorized by BMW? When made? How were these, assuming that there are others like it, obtained?

Thank you you for looking. image.jpg. image.jpg

Sorry, I don't have any info, I just wanted to say thanks for sharing. That's an extremely cool and unique knife.

ETA: Ok, after some quick searching, seems like Inox Solingen Germany did a fair amount of promo knives. I found some they did for BMW, Mercedes, Stihl, and some I've not heard of like Southern Cross Fund.

Found a BMW model just like yours that sold on Ebay.UK for $30.

Thank you for the research strait.

OK.

I bot this one for $25 off the auction site just a few days ago. It has been carried but the edge looks and feels like a factory edge with no defects. I don't get many hits looking for similar ones.

I will have to try out the cap lifter but holding the bottle at its bottom!

Yeah, there doesn't seem to be many of any version floating around. I found a few more knives done for Hitachi, an SAS "Who Dares Wins", an Ohio Techniglass (an old TV tube company, a Mt. Rainier collector knife, and a few Euro companies I've never heard of.

Pretty cool stuff.

Sort of looks like a generic Chinese-made electrician's knife (general blade shape) with a bottle opener added... I guess the looks might be deceiving, it's a BMW knife after all!
