I'm looking at the Boa for my next purchase or maybe a Spec Bump. Dont know that much about either one or Kershaws in general...anybody got any help....thx/paul

Boa is a tried and proven workhorse. Linerlock. You should be able to get if for no more than a 100 bucks now. Aluminium handle.
The Bump is a much newer and way cooler frame- or studlock. Which lock or handle and blade materials you like at what price is up to you (the Spec Bump is less classy than the blue S30V Ti-handle framelock I have, but then there's also classier and costlier Midtech versions... )

The Boa is the only Kershaw I own. I think of it as their flagship model - one of those that's been popular for a long time and just won't die.

I've got the one with the "splash" handle. I bring it to bars/parties because it's more people friendly, but don't let that fool you. It's a darned good knife.

I had mine redrilled for tip-up carry. It's lightening fast into action that way.

I think the Bump is a little over-priced, while the Boa is about $50 cheaper and actually a really good knife for the money.

The Boa's still a very good knife, but surely the Bump is the flagship now.
Frame- instead of linerlock, S30V instead of S60V, flat instead of hollow grind, ti instead of aluminium handles, make it worth the money for me, though I keep both. I do like both blade shapes.
For parties etc. I recommend the sheeple-friendlier Chive or Leek.
