My first real grinding attempt, apart from
edge work. Freehand on my little belt sander.

Be kind, people!

I like it a lot. The snub nose fits her well  In the third picture this knife looks massive

That looks GREAT for your first time,

I like the bowie style

Now we have seen some total chop jobs on the forums lately, and some I would say- the user even managed to maul said blade and ultimately decrease the value at the expense of learning. But-You got yourself a home made variant Tom. That looks really good man. Never would have thought that was your 1st attempt. Kudos bro-looks really sweet. How long that take you from start to finish? Did you use some kind of template before hand with how you wanted it to look-or did you just free hand grind until you thought you had it looking good-adjusting as you go.

Nice job!

It looks much better than anything I could do, by A LOT!
That looks very nice indeed! Gotta give you another .

Thanks, men! I just looked at a pic of a MOAB on the Busse Collector site, and then marked it with blue sharpy and ground away. I spend about 1 hour total on the clip point. I had previously shaped the handles.

As Liu Kang hinted, I have a "bruiser" MOAB on the way - thank you Dan! I will post pics of the pair when I get it, but for now here is a MOAB from Busse Collector:

Whadduya mean, "Be kind, people"??? ...Ain't nothing wrong with that!:thumbup: I like it a lot. :)

I like it. Looks like a fixed blade Buck 112. My first hunting knife. Love it thanks for sharing.

Hey Tom, are you accepting orders for customizing other peoples knives yet?

I just got a gladius that needs to be tweeked......

Looks good! Hmmm..."Bruiser MOAB" you say? Piggyback sheath, maybe...?

;)

Here's middle brother,Tom. Big MOAB brother will make both look tiny. Very nice work.

Looks good to me!

I have been thinking about taking the "hump" out of the spine swedge on the SarQ. Just make it a straight line drop to the tip.

Thanks for sharing.

Awesome Tom, very cool looking. I'm not sure I'm at the point of taking a grinder to any of my Busse's yet. Not sure I ever will be.
