people have talked about makers fixing knives after they have sold them

Well, I previously purhcased a Bob Crowder boot knife almost a year ago. This knife was originally purchased in 1990 at the Oregon knife collectors show. I saw the knife at a friends in 1993 and then saw it on EBay about 16 months ago. Much to my surprise, it came up again 6 months later.

I was able, at that time to acquire the knife. Unfortunately, the poor photos used to show the knife did not show a crack and susequent bad repair of the Desert Ironwood scales.

Why did I keep the knife? Good knife basically by an excellent maker and the price was right.

This year on our trip west, I stopped at Bob's and left the knife to get new scales on it. I mentioned pearl would be nice as would honey giraffe bone.

Continued our trip and on our way home, stopped in to obtain the repaired knife.

What a terrific job and my cost was the giraffe bone for the scales. I never hesitate to buy the good knives I can obtain from Bob Crowder

Here are a couple images showing the final knife

An exceptionally nice looking bootknife and that new handle looks great. Those mosaic pins add a lot to final package.

Great looking knife Murray! I love the scales.

Bob is one of the nicest, easiest to talk to guys you'll find at any of the shows...and a great leader as he's Pres of the MKA :D
