Just wanted to give a quick thumbs up to Mr. Dozier.
I ordered a Professional Skinner with the Maple Burled handle.
I was told it would take about 4 1/2 months and I'm happy to say it was only about 3 1/2 months. What a beautiful knife. The workmanship is absolutely superb.
I've bought many knives for a lot more money and the fit and finish of this knife is second to none. It's weight and balance are fantastic - very comfortable in my hand. I love the blade design and I now understand what is meant by hair popping sharp. The hairs on my arm just jumped when I gave it a little shave :D Even the sheath is great - nice comfortable spot to push off with my thumb as I withdraw it from the sheath. I've been thinking of getting a custom folder when I can afford one and I now know that I'll be saving for his DK-TW Workhorse. I highly recommend the Prof. Skinner knife to anyone who is considering a knife design similar to this. Thank you Mr. Dozier!

Bob Dozier's knives are excellent. Bob understands what it takes to make a great working knife and sheath. I have a couple presently and one more on order. I don't think I've ever read a negative review of any of his knives.

Besides offering outstanding knives, the Dozier's are great folks and I'm proud to have Bob and Linda as friends.

Yep. My Dozier arrived this weekend, one month earlier than expected. There's nothing like finding a custom knife in your mailbox that you weren't expecting. It made my whole weekend, and probably the rest of this week.

So what model do you have on order? Are you going the convex route, or are you sticking with Bob's excellent hollow grinds...... or is it a surprise? ;)

Now, Buzz, technically I don't even know about this knife since it's a X-mas present...but I asked Santa for something in a convex grind, maybe with some ironwood scales and "wilderness" sheath...

I'll add my voice to the Dozier Admiration Choir (he earns & deserves all the praise he gets).

You can spend more, you can get fancier but you can't get a better performing knife for the money.

I also have one on order (this makes 5). This one is being handled with some "special stock" I sent Bob. It's the first time he's worked with this stuff. I'll post a picture in the Gallery when I get it. It's not due until January but based on the early arrival of your knives maybe, I'll get lucky and have a Christmas present!

Very timely post. I have a Pro Skinner enroute to me at this moment. Having never handled the Pro Skinner, your comments are certainly encouraging.

I hope you like yours as much as I like mine!! Let us know what you think. I've been using mine all week and I think its probably the best value I've got for my money:)
