Hi Joe, its me Bob with the latest acquisition from e bay to share. This is an Ocean Wave pattern damascus hunter with brass guard, red and brass spacers and stag handle with ferrule thong hole. When it arrived here the condition was as advertised; lots of wear, pitting and nicks on the edge. The sheath that it should have come with was long gone. One good thing was that there were several close ups which showed the treasure beneath the decades of neglect! I told Bill about the knife and soon it was back home for repair. Bill was apprehensive at first because of the corrosion enveloping the left side of its blade and warned me that any flaw in the steel might present itself and ruin the knife's value... a risk i did not foresee. I got a call from Bill a few days later with great news- the knife came out perfect as the pictures show, the etch took well and the pattern quite vivid. Bill dates this hunter to 1978 when he was working in Shreveport, La. Big thanks to him for stepping up and restoring this hunter for me and making a new sheath for it! Bill stamped it to match the blade (he still has the stamp 32 yrs later) If I seem ecstatic about a small knife its because this is the only Ocean Wave bladed hunter I have seen in 25 years of collecting these fine weapons & tools that Bill Bagwell produces for us in the same way for the last 40 years. Thank you Joe for posting these threads and to everyone for stopping by and all the kind remarks they are appreciated! Sincerely, Bob Furusho
