BUG OUT BODY
GET HOME BODY

How prepared am I physically to move myself(and possible other) where I need to go ? Am I working out enough? just thoughts.......

It would suck to devote much of your life to cardio and strength training, pour a few thousand dollars into a well-prepared Bug Out Bag, and then on Day 1 of the Apocalypse (Zombies, Hurricane, Earthquake, Puerto Rican Pride Day, etc) some random fat dude shoots you in the chest with a $300 pistol and takes all your stuff.

I now officially want to change my forum name to SomeRandomFatDude...

Very good point. That is exactly why I also practice dodging bullets...........

Kind of a useless thread.

Let's look at real life, there is no one ultimate Rambo body shape that we all must have, and if we don't have it then it is useless to prepare for a disaster.

Come on, real life is that everyone should have some degree of preps that matches their lifestyle and disasters related to their area.

You don't prep your body for disasters, you prep your body for the lifestyle you want. If you like to do martial arts then you must prepare your flexibility, strength, reaction time, etc. If you work at a desk all day and like to take long slow walks then you need to prep for that.

Fitness is what we do for life, not for one future Rambo movie in your head.

On the other hand, if knowing that to evacuate your building you are going to need to walk a mile or two, and right now you cannot, maybe thats the motivation to start walking a bit more. Sure you can take it overboard, but on the other hand, prepping that way now is also prepping for later in life. A little fitness goes a long way, as do good habits. No matter your reason, fitness is worthwhile. And maybe your planned evacuation or potential needs are the gauge you should use to see if you are fit enough.

Your body and your mind are they only things that can't be lost or left behind. Definitely resources worth developing.

I appreciate your reply to the useless thread.

^^As for body shape the wiry thin or "stringly" build seems to be the best to me. Beefcakes can't run, whippets can't lift so a middle ground seems the best. Just my thoughts. :)

On the positive side because of all the cardio training when that person turns they'll probably be a faster walker than your average zombie. A faster zombie means a greater change of running down the very same fat person who shot um with their zinc alloy Davis P-380.

Blasphemy. Zombies can't run! The 2004 remake of "Dawn of the Dead" was sacrilegious!
