Hello everyone from a millie fan

I was wondering if anyone has used the Chinese folder in the field and what they think of it

I can pick on up on clearance for $90 bucks but am on the fence right now wondering if it is a good user or a dust collector.

Thanks

I use mine and it is fantastic! Great slicer, extremely sharp , extremely smooth , great eargonomics, VG-10. What's not to like !!!

Love the Lum.
Especially the large Chinese. The small is great too but the large fits my over-sized meat hook a little better.

I modified my newest large Chinese with some additional liners, low carry STR clip, carbidized the lock bar and jimping, polished the edge, and a few other little bits to personalize. That's just me though, it's a fine knife out of the box. Larger than I thought and extremely capable. I put it up against a specifically designed folding chef knife and the large Chinese had the edge. ;) Also was working it yesterday in the shop doing some rope cutting and it didn't skip a beat.

I went a little nuts with the carbide on the spine for jimping. If you want to see it I'll get a picture.

If you are talking about W&W that is the large Chinese folder they are selling. It's nice, I've handled it. Transitioning from the Millie I think you will find it's nowhere near as useful. I think it makes a nice office knife or light duties knife but that's probably it. I watched a review last night on YouTube and the one thing that really stuck out to me was how wide it is when it is closed. Very very wide. Wider than a manix.

Just received my small Lum with CF Nishijin (same as Softrock's shown above). It's coming to the office tomorrow. Very thin, Nishijin scales are really nice. This will make a great gent's folder.
