I have been looking at the Lum Encounters offered by Seki Cut and they look like a solid folder, D2 blade steel, several different handle materials, and a 4" blade. I was wondering if anyone had one and would share your opinions of the knife. I prefer to buy knives that I can touch and play with a little but if I can compair it something I have that is the next best thing. If you have any pics please send them to me, especially if you have a pic of the knife in your hand, that way I can really get a feel for the size. Thanks

I have the smaller version (3.25" blade) with micarta scales. I got mine from www.sekidirect.com The larger versions sell for $105, the smaller $80. They are currently offering free shipping. I recieved mine in just 4 days from time of order.

I really like mine . Fit and finish first class, solid lock-up and SHARP! Really sharp. Scales are a rich dark grey color, nice feel to them. High mounted clip, so it sets low in pocket, almost, but not quite as low as S2K. Overall a quality knife.
YMMV:rolleyes:

Size wise does the smaller version with the 3.25" blade fit well in your hand and work well for an E.D.C?

Fits my hand very well. I think it probably makes a better EDC than the larger version. The larger size has 4" blade, 9.25" open. My SERE 2000 has a 3.5" blade and is 8.25" open and I don't think I'd want anything bigger than it as an EDC.

The smaller version is the one I was leaning towards. I have a couple of 4" folders and they are so big to carry. Thanks for your input.

Don't have an Encounter, but have many of Bob's custom folders. They all have excellent grip and ergo's. Bob's very pleased with the results from SekiCut, which says a lot.

Thanks for everyones input, I just ordered a small Lum Encounter with mircata scales, I can't wait till it gets here.
