Have always wondered, but never asked.......... I have a titanium handled Spyderco Lum Tanto folder and a later G-10 Lum Tanto folder. The titanium version has a sharp but somewhat flater grind on the tanto tip. The G-10 version has a much more pronounced hamaguri or "appleseed" grind on the tanto tip, but it isn't sharp and seems too wide an angle to sharpen. Was the grind changed on the later G-10 Lum folders to the thicker "appleseed" grind? Or does one of my Lums have a production inconsistency? Should the Lum have a narrower, sharp grind on the tip or a thicker, less sharp convex grind? Thanks for any information or thoughts......................... :)

They all have the appleseed grind, but since they are done by hand there is some natural variation between individual samples.

Thank you Carlos. :) Lucky me, I only have 2 and I seem to have both extremes in the tip grind covered. ;) One more question if I may.........Is the Lum tanto tip supposed to be cutting sharp? Or is the tip more for strength like a Strider tanto or Nealy Pesh-Kabz?
