I have carried a Spyderco for many years and recently lost my current folder. I have been looking for a replacement and saw a Bob Lum tanto with a combination blade that looked ideal. I am left handed and when I wrote to Spyderco, they told me that they no longer make a knife with a left handed clip.
Does any one have a suggestion?
Thanks
John

Welcome to the forums Tuva72!!
Spyderco makes a few knives with reversible clips. I guess they don't make the Bob Lum Tanto with a left hand clip.
What is your primary use going to be for the knife?? Just wondering, it will help to know so we can all point ya towards another knife that might work better for you.

I thank you for your quick response and apologize for my slow one.
I have always carried some form of folder, and for the past 10 or 15
years my primary pocket knife has been a Spyderco.
I'm a sailor and need a blade I can get to quickly. The edge must be serrated (to cut line), but I like a partial straight edge for
miscellaneous chores. The unit must be high quality, corrosion resistant (for salt-water), and because it's so personal I guess I look for some uniqueness and sex appeal, and, of course, left-handed.
Thanks,
John

Welcome to the BF - Tuva72!

Many spydercos will do - and best is to post this question in the spyderco forum (under makers/mfgrs.)

As for your need - I would say - if you can carry out in the open - the best blade for your purpose is the neck knife carried outside your clothes- nothing beats it in terms of speed and usability...I don’t remember a serrated version - but surely there are some and you can have them custom made to your order - will cost a little more
But for the price of the LUM (200+ $) you can get a superb neck knife from a dozen different makers.

BTW - two are better them one and so on... you will find many here are carrying two three and more knives - and have good reasons for that too..Funny crowd...

Just MHO.

John,
What Spyderco's have you carried in the past?? You also could get a Bob Lum Tanto and have it tapped&drilled on the left side for a clip. The liner lock would of course be backwards, but you could carry it on your left side.
