So, I spent last night putting my new bag together!
It's based on a CTD rip-off of the maxpedition Falcon. I'm not a maxped. fan and I was broke when I got it but its held up so far!

You can see the tarp on the bottom, I'll start with that. It's a simple brown/silver 8X10 tarp, with reinforced corners.

That's a emdom small shingle pouch. It's attached to the front of pack via large malice clips.

In it are my fire kit(nat.geo. pelican-style case with misch metal rod, fatwood and fatwood shavings, PJCB's, matches, and a gel flame heater.), buck masters streamlight stylus(green LED), and a baggie of baggies(2 gallon bags, 2 quart bags.)

In the bottom front pocket are, my MSR miox, 5 sticks of fatwood:eek:, 100 ft. of para cord, 2 spools of different sized snare wire, 8 aluminum tent pegs, snap light, and 2 packets of aluminum foil.

The top front pocket is my FAK pocket, in it are my FAK(can't remember the contents sorry), and a bottle of iodine(secondary water treatment, and antiseptic)

The middle pocket is shelter/warmth. In it is my gortex shell, extra fleece, earmuffs, bungee cord, climbing carabiner, and two key chain biners.

The largest back pocket is food/tools. It contains my wetterlings small hunter's axe, and my diamond sharpening stones. It is mainly empty, leaving room for food/water.

On the outside of the pack are my ESEE4(on the left shoulder strap), Gerber suspension, 35-45ft of para cord, two key chain biners, and, not in the picture is my whistle which is on the opposite shoulder strap.
So, what do you guys think?
I know I need water containers, I like the look of the platypus water bottles. Anyone have experience with them? Since this is a grab and go bag for last minute camping/ woodsbumming trips I can't leave water packed in them. I also have to keep the clothes there as I don't know what I'll be wearing when I grab it and leave. So, am I missing anything? Thanks in advance!

nice looking pack, I'm no fan of Maxped's Falcon either, I think it's overhyped. For 100 dollars you can buy a made-in-the-USA Kelty Map that overall is designed much better.

My beef was over a rash of customer service issues they had. I learned about it from the guys at EDC Forums. I'd link nut their link was broken when they moved.

I have held both Condor and Maxped stuff and I don't see much if any difference I certainly see nothing to merit the x2 x3 times cost maxped is over Condor. In my mind when something costs twice as much it should be twice as good.

Yeah, I'm going to pick up 2 condor 10X4 bottle holders for the sides. Any experience? I heard of them from the Canteen shop on Dave Canterburys youtube channel! I like the guy's system but his markup on his site...

I'd toss in some hard candy and a couple tea bags in a zip lock baggie - but that's just my .02 -- looks like a good kit and that you put some thought into it.

Those are one of the few I haven't held but I have several of the condor molle pouches different sizes and styles, and they all seem to be to really nice quality. I have a Camelbak Motherlode pack and the material and zippers used in the condor stuff seems just as good.

I plan on getting one of those bottle holders too. Some sites have them for $15 don't think you can go wrong.
