Bob Terzuola Impressions?

Read the thread. Judge for yourself. Most comments are positve. What about your work...is it always perfect? Knifemakers are humans. They have good days, bad days, good months, bad months, good years, bad years. How would you like a bunch of faceless people to rate your life work in public?

I know Bob and have owned many of his knives. Most were absolutely perfect, a couple needed tweaking on the lock after awhile but that is the nature of the linerlock. I have had to have locks adjusted by many of today's best makers.
Brownshoe hit the nail on the head about faceless people making judgements and statements.

Have you been on eBay and seen a seller with well over 1000 transactions? How about 3000? Have you EVER seen one with 100% positive feedbacks? It's just the laws of averages. I saw a tablefull of great knives disappearing happily off of his table at NYCKS. There you have it. He was only just aware of a thread with his name on it in here.

I think the odds of finding a problem with one of his knives are very small.
The key here is that Bob stands behind his knives solidly.

One thing, if you are picking any custom up from the secondary market especially one that has been used and or abused, you may want to touch base with the maker first to see what options are open if the knife does have a problem.

"Bob Terzuola Impressions?"

i've got one.

hi. i'm bob terzuola. i make knives.

ha.
peace.

Lifter and brownshoe are absolutely correct. I have had owned many and no problems.

The ones that do are far from the norm imho.

LMAO at Pukko! :p Terzuola makes awesome knives! He was instrumental in the whole "Tactical Knife" craze! I have handled a few at Knife shows and find them of excellent quality! If I can ever quit buying OTHER knives and save up some cash, I hope to own one someday soon!

He's actually more like the father of the modern tactical knife.

Thanks. He was nice to me @ both shows, so I don't see why he wouldn't autograph a customer's copy of his book. (Maybe he was busy)

I like his designs but I don't like liner-locks.

Maybe we could get Mr. Terzuola to design a lockback Starmate!

Allen.

I have 3 atcf's of his. All 3 are beautiful knives. Very solid and well made. Will buy a 4th when the time comes.

I'm sorry I missed the original thread; I feel compelled to weigh in. I have only 1 of Bob's knives, a TTF3-A with bronze bolsters and buckeye burl handles. I chose a "pretty" one so I could fly under the radar of the politically correct (that trick worked for me). I chose a Terzuola because I wanted a user reliable as a bank vault, not a safe queen. I carry and use it almost daily, and have yet to be disappointed. So I'm sorry, Mr. Terzuola, I probably won't be buying another one. Why? Well, it's not because I'm not happy with it. Nope, it's because it's so damn FINE it won't wear out in my lifetime. (By the way, I purchased it from a reputable internet dealer sight unseen and would do so again. I had the right to return it if I wasn't satisfied. Is that not fair?)

Guys, Thanks for the nice comments. Yes, it was at the NY show that I learned about the threads about me. I've answered on the other thread in "Custom Knife Forum" so I won't belabor the point here. Basically: Yes I do grind my own blades by hand, I do make my own knives, I do stand behind my work and will repair or adjust for free if the problem is material or workmanship and not abuse or user modification. If one says he has seven of my knives and four don't work, how come he bought seven of them and why have I never heard from him about adjustments? last point, I have never, ever refused the honor of autographing my book for anyone.
ALLENC -your starmate lockback question may have an answer. Sal Glesser and I were discussing the production of a Spyderco Microstar at the NY show and he asked If I thought the Starmate should be re-issued perhaps as a lockback! Were you eavesdropping???? get in touch with him on the Spyderco forum.
LOODIEBOY - Surprise! I have build a programmed obsolescence into my knives so yours should be falling apart any day now. I'll await your new order but please don't send the pieces back to me!!!
Best to all, BOB

Garage Boy, at the NY show in March I'll take you to Bob personally and if he doesnt sign your book, I'll smack him upside his head:D:D
Seriously, bet you didnt know Bob comes from Brooklyn too.

Hi All-

He has a sweet blade (ATCF Terzuola) that was done in partnership with the fine folks of Microtech Knives earlier this year. It can be seen under the automatic folders tab.
