Bob Wanamaker - @RLDubbya - Passing

For those familiar with @RLDubbya here on the forums I wanted to post a belated notice of his passing.

Bob had been fighting cancer for some time and unfortunately lost his battle on October 31st of last year.

I'd noticed his absence and suspected that he'd passed on, but only now found confirmation.

Bob was a fellow sharpener, a genuinely good guy and asset to the knife community. I know he went out of his way to share his craft with anyone interested and was always friendly with me.

Rest in peace Bob. You've been and will continue to be missed.

Rip Bob, I was afraid this is what happened. I haven’t seen him around here or on the Spyderco Forums in quite some time. He was a very knowledgeable and great guy.

That’s terrible to hear. I only had a few interactions with the guy but they were always good ones.

I knew he had been battling cancer and always respected his ability to remain friendly, helpful and sarcastically positive in face of this. I will miss his unique brand of humour. The guy was a fixture around here and always able to let any pressure out of the room with even a one line post. He was just one of those guys you couldn’t help but respect.

I had noticed his absence but never put two and two together and am sad and disappointed to learn the reason.

Please say a prayer for his soul and any loved ones he left behind. May he and they find peace in the Lord’s embrace and be given His blessing.
